Question: I Haven't Had My Period in Months. Is Something Wrong With Me?
Answer: What’s wrong with you? Nothing is wrong with you. It’s perfectly normal to have irregular periods during the first few years after you have your first period. Irregular menstrual cycles are normal during this time while your body adjusts to the changes that take place during puberty.

In fact, the first few years, after the onset of menstruation, are the only time during your reproductive years, except during pregnancy, when skipping periods for months is normal.

Further, don’t worry if you have several periods that seem to occur regularly and then you suddenly skip your period for several months. Again, this is normal. However, if this occurs and you are sexually active, you should see your doctor to rule out the possibility of pregnancy.

Of course, anytime you feel uncomfortable about the timing of your periods, talk to your doctor.
