Definition: A syndrome is a group of symptoms that occur together and that are characteristic of a disease or condition. Types of syndromes include premenstrual syndrome or PMS, carpal tunnel syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome or PCOS, and toxic shock syndrome or TSS.
