Post-coital Bleeding

Definition: Post-Coital bleeding is spotting or non-menstrual vaginal bleeding that occurs after sexual intercourse. Sometimes referred to as "spotting after sex," vaginal bleeding may occur after sexual intercourse for a number of reasons. These causes include vaginal trauma, cervical conditions such as cervical ectropion, and vaginal infections or STDs.
