The PMS Buddy - Are They Kidding?

Tuesday September 16, 2008
PMS Buddy, is a website that promises to notify your man or anybody else when you have PMS each month, so that they can arrange to stay out of your way. According to their website, PMS Buddy has "a single goal in mind: to keep you aware of when your wife, girlfriend, mother, sister, daughter, or any other women in your life are closing in on "that time of the month" - when things can get intense for what may seem to be no reason at all."

The PMS Buddy also provides a forum where men can express themselves about what it's like dealing with your period and menstrual cycle. Basically, from a woman's perspective, it's a pretty nasty place where men and others can rant and rave about how difficult PMS is for them!

As a woman who spent many years and menstrual cycles dealing with the sometimes unbearable symptoms of PMS and PMDD, I don't appreciate the thoughts expressed by these men and others. If they think they have it bad dealing with a woman who has PMS or PMDD, they ought to find out what it's like to actually have PMS or PMDD. I think they'd quickly learn how good they really have it -- I know I'd trade places with anyone of them anytime.

What do you think about the PMS Buddy?

Honestly, I think it’s not a bad idea for men to have a heads-up, just so they stay out of your hair. Certainly the site is a bit tounge-in-cheek and probably isn’t meant to be too offensive. I’m not offended, at least. Maybe I’m the only one, but I think it’s kinda funny and probably useful for people in relationships. Thanks - KJ
